“Stay With Me Through The Night” Fabiana Palladino

Looking back to 2024, Fabiana Palladino hit me crazy, for sure.  She brought a kinda future-nostalgic flavor this year.  Her own name, the first studio album, of course having her dad Pino Palladino bass groove, means a lot not only to me but to the world music scene.  As we listen to many tracks that have kinda “retro taste” tricked by producing with instrumental tones or gear-like flavors, while Fabiana represents “pure soul” more than that kinda “stylish”.  I mean she’s not fake at all.  I became a big fan as soon as she sang her first line of this song. I don’t remember those kinda things that have happened to me since I have listened to Diane Birch.

“I’m Gonna Love You” Cody Johnson with Carrie Underwood

I think country pop has a lot of “Duet Song”  relatively compared to other music genres.  Especially I saw many titles this year.  Not only male and female style, but also two males and two females.  Is it a trend in country music?  Maybe related to the karaoke market in the US?  Well, if so, who can sing like Cody Johnson or Carrie Underwood?  I love to see that.  This son must be ace if you can sing it.  The words are pretty straight and clear.  The melodies are well groovy with a nice tempo.  Carrie is one of the best singers in the country pop scene, however a lot of duet repertoire she appeared in.  I’m Gonna Love You is actually Cody Johnson’s album extension.  The music video is kinda fantasy-teste and obviously a CG picture which is a little overwhelming to me.

“Think I’m In Love With You” Chris Stapleton

Without watching the MV for the song, Think I’m In Love With You is kinda groovy, a moderate dance tune with easy remembering lyrics.  The string accompaniment reminds me of Teddy P’s old good time.  At the year end of 2024, Chris Stapleton is still outstanding in the country music scene while he keeps innovating his flavor of music.  I was surprised at Dua Lipa’s performance at the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards by the way.  I thought everybody joined country music finally.  Who else not yet?

“Where Were You” Kaylee Bell

Kaylee Bell is another hit on me 2024.  I don’t remember when I first got her song Keith and followed on my streaming list but I’m sure her new album Nights Like This is the one the heaviest rotation album in 2024.  Just listening to her songs makes me happy enough while the details of productions and the quality of songwriting always catch my attention all time.
