"Sympathy Is a Knife featuring Ariana Grande" Charli XCX
Charli xcx has been busy on the Hit charts with her new Sympathy Is a Knife, actually there are two versions with Ariana Grande and herself. They’re not just replacing vocal parts, but different tracks actually. I kinda like that musician split. I find the Ariana Version has a fat Oberheim style synth that reminds me of Break Free a little bit. Anyway, Chali xcx is still leading the “girls’ pop” scene and keeps tracking brit pop traditions, synthetic sounds and rhythms.
“Diet Pepsi” Addison Rae
Definitely Tic Tok generations love the truck Diet Pepsi by Addison Rae, which is now bombing on the US charts. The track has a lot of production trends on, tasty analog synths, deep and dark reverb tone and heavy saturated drums. And all those elements contrast to Addison’s soft vocal, sorta addictive and can’t stop repeating. It’s not just a buzzing track, but a remarkable musical track which literally brings her success beyond bubblegum pop.
“I Am Not Okay” Jelly Roll
Sly’s TV series Tulsa King has a lot of musical impacts from the beginning. Especially the country music relating to the main scene of the drama and casts’ kinda “cowboy heart” including former New York gangster Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Sylvester Stallone). If you’re a big fan of Tulsa King like me, you must be freaked out watching the scene. Well, regardless of Jelly Roll’s appearance on Tulsa King, I Am Not Okay is hitting the charts now. I think the arpeggio is played by the resonator, right? That guitar’s tone and reverb is so great and I can remember it all time. This song means a lot.
It’s great to watch all casts’ smiles beyond the drama. Sly never shows such calm, tender eyes in the story of Tulsa King. Apparently they enjoy working.
“Love You, Miss You, Mean It” Luke Bryan
Straight Country Pop song, Love You Miss You Mean It by Luke Bryan has unique lyrics on the first chorus which are the words from a girl friend. That came out a mild and beautiful country song unlike a kinda “man’s sorrow” story. Luke’s vocal speaks the story so tenderly, must be an unforgettable song for many fans.
