Ordinary Angels (2024)
Based on the true story in Louisville, Kentucky in 1994, Ordinary Angels let us think again about how people can help others unconditionally, and how people can believe to do something. More than the story, nothing more than the casting makes us excited even before starting the movie. Hilary Swank, Nancy Travis and the tough guy Alan Ritchson play such a wonderful human story. The soundtracks are produced by Pancho Burgos-Goizueta, all tracks are wonderful, pretty much fit to the heart-warming storylines. The most important and the greatest work for this movie is that all acting, scripts, pictures and music are dedicated to one message.
By the way, Hilary reminds me of Julia Roberts’ Erin Brockovich (2000). One person can change the world.
We Bought A Zoo (2012)
Based on the true story of Dartmoor Zoological Park in Devon, England, We Bought A Zoo is a heart-warming human comedy. Besides two top stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson, two kids of Benjamin Mee (Matt), Dyran (Colin Ford) and Rosie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones) contribute to such a beautiful drama. These kinds of stories always cheer us up with touching our hearts.
The soundtracks are produced by Jónsi, he creates such significant theme music and that means a lot to the whole production of the movie. I must say Jónsi added a more fantastic atmosphere to the picture. All film composers must watch and listen to it carefully.
Last Seen Alive (2022)
Missing is the most scary thing that easily happens to ordinary people. Now which is more likely happening in day time or night? The movie starts with his wife’s gone in the morning in the middle of the trip. The soundtracks are coming into the very moment threatening inside of the audience. I was surprised they use a piano-like tone without reverbs, it comes pretty direct to our ear closely with Gerard Butler’s scripts. It’s like a psycho horror sound technique. In most movies we hear the sound in the same perspective as the picture, once it gets closer, it can be heard as an inner image. Well, actually this movie is more like a psycho thriller. The scariest thing is that you have no one to believe. Nobody you can trust. That’s perfectly against all odds.
The soundtracks are produced by Sam Ewing. A lot of sound variation with synths, hybrid orchestra and material percussion contribute to produce the current blockbuster style of tracks.
As the scene goes on, I remembered Jude Law’s Closer and Side Effects. I still don’t know why but something psycho thrilling reminds me of them. I’m not good at watching these psycho genre movies usually, however I like to watch Gererd so what can I say? Sometimes it’s hard to see inside of people’s minds which are darker than a black hole, more evil than Thanos thoughts.
